Chipping

A chip shot is used very close to the green.  Anywhere from 1 to 20 yards away from the green.

5. Place a little extra weight on the left foot.

6. Extend arms and swing the club as though it were a putt.  No wrists and no body movement other than the shoulders.

Basically the chip shot is the same as a putt.  The three mandatory fundamentals of putting still apply in chipping.

1. No wrists.
2. The speed of the stroke is a constant.
3. The length of backswing determines the distance the ball rolls.

You can use the 7, 8, 9, PW, SW, and LW to chip with.  To roll the ball, chip with the 7 or 8.  To make the ball fly higher, use the PW or SW.  These clubs have more loft and will help stop the ball from rolling to far.
