The way you set up to hit the ball is called addressing the ball or the set-up.   It is not the most natural thing you will ever do, in fact, it's pretty awkward.   But, there is a reason for why we stand like this.  Follow these simple fundamentals and half of the battle will be won.

· Set your feet so your heels are shoulder width apart.

· Bend your knees slightly.

· Lean forward from the hips (stick your rear out).

· Hang your arms perpendicular to the ground.

· Your chin should extend out over your arms.
· Keep your weight evenly balances (50% left, 50% right).
· Your weight should be closer to your toes than your heels.

Here are some common errors.

Too much knee bend.

Too far away from the ball.

Feet are too far apart.
